This year's end of season concert is going to be HMS Pinafore, or, "The Lass that Loved a Sailor" by Gilbert and Sullivan.

Soloists include Shirley Wilkinson, Geoff Hughes, Joan Kelsall, Mike Graham, Dorothy Wardhaugh and Peter Walker as Sir Joseph Porter KCB.

Jesmond Choral Group perform Mozart, Schubert and Hummel

St Hilda's Church, Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne, 7.30 pm

Mozart: Regina Coeli
Schubert: Mass in G Major
Hummel: Mass No.2 in E Flat

To start the Choral Group's 40^th anniversary year they are teaming up with the Jesmond Community Forum to perform these works as part of the Jesmond Community Festival. The performance of the Hummel Mass no.2 marks the beginning of a series of performances which wil cover the complete set of Hummel Masses, which will fulfil a long-standing ambition for Choral Group Music Director, Jonathan Scott. Hummel has recently seen a resurgence in popularity with a re-appraisal of his music.

Jesmond Choral Group are following a path of discovery with performances of some of the lesser known works of the classical and baroque masters, such as the Regina Coeli by Mozart.

As part of Jesmond Community Festival, this concert has no admission charge.
