'Heaven's High Paradise' by Cappella Novocastriensis
St Laurence's Church, Warkworth: 8.00 pm
Cappella is on the road with 'Heaven's High Paradise'
Palestrina's Missa brevis, 3 of Parry's Songs of Farewell, and motets, madrigals and partsongs.
It's quite a mix, with Schutz, and then some moderately naughty ladies, courtesy of Farmer and Lassus - you guessed it, Phyllis, and Matona...slightly alternative paradise..... And there are several classic English part-songs, including 'As torrents', Stanford's 'Bluebird,' Pearsall's 'Lay a Garland', and closing with Sullivan's 'Long Day..'
Tickets are available from the vicarage.
