Another young quartet from the RNCM this time with Making Music sponsorship, the Heath Quartet is rapidly establishing a reputation for exciting and innovative performances. Local cellist Christopher Murray will already be familiar to those who attended our AGM in 2004.

Navarra String Quartet

Hexham and District Music Society present the Navarra String Quartet

Tillet Trust sponsorship brings the Navarra Quartet on tour to Hexham. They met at RNCM, where they are currently postgraduate students, in 2002 and have since won numerous chamber music awards.

International tenor Mark Padmore does not often have time for recitals so when this opportunity arose it was too good to miss. What better way to spend St. Valentine's Day than listening to the bewitching tones of a fine singer accompanied by master of the keys Roger Vignoles.

A finer string quintet would be hard to find which is why Divertimenti have been invited back. Their interpretation of the Schubert Quintet was wonderful last time and we expect the Brahms to be as memorable.

Zum

The full Zum band gave the December concert in 2004. They now have a trio version playing the same dynamic mix of tango, gypsy, jazz and varied folk idioms: an evening of exciting and delightful music.

Kungsbacka Piano Trio

The Kungsbacka Trio first played in Sweden and have since built an impressive reputation for exciting interpretations. They perform throughout Europe and beyond and are already recording their first discs. Their visit in 2006 was a great success.

Llyr Williams - Piano

Hexham and District Music Society present Llyr Williams on piano.

Welsh pianist Llyr WilIiams shot to fame following his debut recital at the 2003 Edinburgh Festival to which he has been invited each succeeding year. He is acclaimed for his brilliant technique and for the poetic expressiveness and power of his playing.
