Amateur orchestras are music's lifeblood

"Amateur orchestras are music's lifeblood" said Tom Service in his piece about amateur orchestras in The Guardian earlier this month.

There are "hundreds of thousands of people [...] whose talents, energy and concerts are the lifeblood of our musical scene."

He concludes the article by encouraging readers "This Christmas, get out there and support your local amateur orchestra and its winter concerts. You'll be as surprised, and impressed, as I was."
