Singer/instrumentalist wanted to join our band

We play traditional and contemporary music from Geordie, Northumbrian, Irish and Scottish influences.

We have Chris on guitar and mandola, Trevor on guitar, dulcimer, bass, mouthorgan, and lead vocals, plus Brian on piano accordion and vocals.

We are looking for a female voice to join us who can sing and play an instrument to a reasonable standard, and help out with melody and harmony. I must stress that the emphasis is on enjoyment and we don't pretend to be musically sophisticated, so no musical pedants please.

We practise each Friday evening alternating each week between Marley Hill and Chester Le Street.

Why not give me, Brian, a ring for a chat and more information. You can of course have a sneaky look at our website before ringing: www.freewebs.com/fewbroth.
You can contact me on 07855 354508 or bc@chezcoop.plus.com.

Awards Administrator Vacancy

Do you have good organisational skills, an eye for administrative detail and a passion for supporting young musicians in their careers, with half to one day a week to spare?

Making Music is looking for a voluntary Administrator to look after our prestigious Philip and Dorothy Green Award for Young Concert Artists. Following the retirement of Kate Fearnley who devotedly nurtured this programme for many years we would like to find the right person to take this under their wing! In return we promise you a positive and rewarding experience, helping to forge the first steps on the careers of these talented young artists, and supporting our members in the process.

A job description is posted at www.makingmusic.org.uk/vacancies.
