Making Music: North East has set up a del.icio.us account to provide links to other relevant organisations, sourses of support and funding both regionally and nationally.
Del.icio.us is a 'social bookmarking' service that provides a facility to share bookmarks that might normally be made locally within your browser, and also allows them to be sorted and categorised by using 'tags' to sub-divide groups of links.
Below you will see the 'tag cloud' created from the resources logged in the account - the font size indicates the relative volume of current entries (you can also see these from the number in brackets). Clicking on a tag will take you to a page of links within that grouping. Clicking on the 'Making Music North East's del.icio.us tags' icon will take you to the whole account.
This is a useful and increasingly-popular way of sharing resources, as using newer web technologies it allows the end-user to create and tag content rather than rely on a web developer. You can also apply multiple tags so you can represent the same content in a number of different contexts.
